Bishop Hill Folk Music Festival
On Saturday June 1, 2024, start the summer by enjoying the Bishop Hill Folk Music Festival. Located in the village park in Bishop Hill Illinois, some of the best-known Illinois folk musicians, such as Bucky Halker, the Bucktown Americana Music Show, Barry Cloyd, and more will be performing. Their musical styles span a wide range of folk music including hammered dulcimer, bluegrass, Celtic, and Woody Guthrie songs to name just a few. In addition, Mike Anderson, the Dulcimer Guy, will have a program about the Beauty of the Mountain Dulcimer in the Steeple Building Museum at noon. All the park concerts and the dulcimer presentation are free and open to the public.
Music starts at 10 a.m. and continues throughout the day. Local favorite Hammer and Pick will start off the day with their Old Time Music. At 11 a.m., the Bluegrass band Coffee Creek will be performing. In the afternoon at 1 p.m., Chicago’s singer-songwriter Buck Halker will be playing music from his 15 CDs. The Bucktown Americana Music Show will step on stage at 2 p.m. f you’re a fan of bluegrass, folk, Celtic, Americana, or old-time music, you’ll love the Bucktown Americana Music Show. Peoria’s singer-songwriter Barry Cloyd will finish off the day performing songs from his 10 CDs.
